5 Week Course
Weekend Intensive



Week 1
We deep dive into antenatal expressing of colostrum, perineal massage and start training your support team. Our deep dive simulations begin in earnest to get you used to the intensity and reality of labour and birth!
Week 2
This week is all about understanding how you and your support people create an environment that is supportive of physiological birth! We hone in on the signs and symptoms of labour and fill your "labour toolkit" with an extensive list of non pharmacological tools including breathing techniques, TENS machines, combs, deep tissue massage, positioning and much more!
Saturday
We deep dive into antenatal expressing of colostrum, perineal massage and start training your support team. Our deep dive simulations begin in earnest to get you used to the intensity and reality of labour and birth! (Equivalent of W1 & W2 of our 5 week course)
Sunday
Day 2 lifts back the veil on the unknowns of what can happen if your labour deviates from normal. From fetal scalp electrodes, forceps, episiotomies and emergency Caesarean births - no stone is left unturned. We explore how, why and when these things may be offered, and how to support ourselves and each other if this is our journey. Our final couple of hours together is allllll about caring for ourselves and our babies in the postpartum period. We provide you with solid and practical knowledge that will see you start your breastfeeding journey off strong. To round off the night, we practice swaddling, changing and settling our "babies".
Week 3
We put your support people through their paces with a "birth" to kickstart week 3, cementing the use of our labour toolkit and extensive support strategies we have learned over the past 2 weeks. Pharmacological pain relief options (i.e.medicated pain relief) including sterile water injections, gas, morphine and epidurals are discussed and demonstrated to illustrate the process, procedure and practicalities of each.
Week 4
